昨日一人で酒を飲んでいたら、酔った男が「火を持ってないですか」と言って寄ってきた。そこで一儲けできる可能性にピンと来た私は、100円で火を着けてやることにした。

ただし、火をくれてやったわけじゃない。売ったのはあくまで、タバコを燃やすライセンスだけだ。この着火ライセンスでは、他のだれかに火を渡すことまでは認められていない。この火は私の財産なんだから、それくらいは言っていいに決まってる。

酔っ払いはそこまで聞いて、キチガイを見るような目つきになった。それでもよっぽどタバコが吸いたかったらしく、結局は、この契約を受け入れると言った。

気がつくと、その酔っ払いの仲間が寄ってきた。そいつらもタバコの火が欲しかったらしい。私がもう一儲けしてやるかと思っていたら、あろうことか、酔っ払いが悪びれもせずに、私の火の海賊版を分け出した。

私は酔っ払いにつかみかかろうとしたけれど、もはや手遅れで、酔っ払いが仲間に火を分け、そいつらがまた分けて、結局あっというまに、私の火が無料で皆に行き渡ってしまった。

カッとなった私はそいつらのタバコをぜんぶ取り上げて、踏み消してやった。

そうこうしているうちに店員がやってきたので、この不法行為を訴えてやろうと思ったら、なぜか私の方がつまみ出されてしまった。
